Access: Settings: Set up your Outlook Express
In order to use the POP3 features, which
are available to our members, an
"account" has to be opened within the
mail program, to tell it where to go and get, or
send the mail. To do this, you must enter the
information that the program will need to work.
For instance, the mail program will need to know
your email username and password, the name of the
server that the mail will arrive on (POP3), as well as the
name of the server that the mail leave on (SMTP).
Without all four entries, your email program will
not be able to handle your requests. To set up an
account, open your Outlook Express, click on
"tools" on the top menu bar. Next click
on "accounts" and when that window
opens, click on "Add", in the top right
corner, and then "mail".
This will open the Internet Connection Wizard.
Simply follow the instructions
by filling in the information when the setup
wizard asks for it, and you're done. Finally, be
sure to check off the "server requires
authentication" option in order to send mail
on our SMTP mail servers. Without your account
username and password being authorized, our
servers will refuse your connection and your
outgoing mail will not send.
